Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Location: Oshkosh, WI (Hybrid)
Hybrid: 3 Days per Week Onsite (Tuesday–Thursday Required)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Working Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM CST
Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing transactions, reconciling commercial loan accounts, maintaining general ledger accounts, researching discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting daily production goals and service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Process transactions and maintain various accounts and ledgers.
Reconcile commercial loan and general ledger accounts.
Research discrepancies and make appropriate corrections or adjustments.
Perform balancing activities, reconciliation, GL uploads, and adjustments.
Maintain daily goals and service level agreements while clearing outstanding items.
Respond to and resolve accounting-related inquiries.
Post, verify, and validate financial data.
Prepare routine financial reports and analyses.
Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, and Conditional Formatting.
Proficiency with Microsoft OneNote.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of operational debits, credits, and account reconciliation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Workday Financials.
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
Hands-on experience with General Ledger and subledger reconciliations.
Experience with cash account reconciliation.
Ability to identify and resolve accounting exceptions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with banking or commercial loan reconciliations is a plus.
Experience with CLO and/or CDO Suite is a plus.
Five or more years of accounting experience is preferred.
