Accounting Specialist

Location: Denver, CO 80202 | Hybrid
Pay: $27–$30/hour

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Temporary Accounting Specialist to provide project-based support to their accounting team during a period of increased workload and operational transition. This role will focus heavily on Excel, reconciliations, data analysis, and accounting projects rather than traditional month-end close or journal entry responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, advanced Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Perform account and revenue reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• 
  
• Consolidate and organize large data sets using Excel
• 
  
• Create and maintain Excel-based reports and import templates
• 
  
• Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness
• 
  
• Support accounting projects across multiple entities
• 
  
• Gather and organize supporting documentation
• 
  
• Research and resolve data discrepancies with internal departments
• 
  
• Maintain accurate and organized reconciliation support
• 
  
• Provide additional accounting support as needed
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• 1–3 years of accounting, accounting operations, or financial data experience
• 
  
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
• 
  
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• 
  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• 
  
• Ability to work independently and manage project-based assignments

• Comfortable collaborating with multiple departments
