Accounting & Payroll Specialist

Location: Cocoa Beach, FLJob Type: Contract-to-HirePay Rate: Up to $30.50/hour (Depending on Experience)Shift: 1st Shift

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, accounting activities, and employee-related functions in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing payroll and accounting responsibilities accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, 401(k), garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Process weekly payroll for office and field employees.
  • Provide assistance to Human Resources as needed.
  • Process weekly employee expense reimbursements.
  • File payroll taxes weekly, quarterly, and year-end, including processing W-2s.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Provide support to the Accounting Department.
  • Download and upload data files weekly for health and dental insurance.
  • Process company credit card transactions.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
