Mill Creek Lumber & Supply is searching for an Accounting Manager to analyze and communicate financial information to management for sound economic decision making. This is a non‑supervisory manager position and offers a bonus potential of up to 10% of their annual salary.Duties and Responsibilities Manage the monthly and annual close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate and completePrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesMaintain and reconcile the fixed asset register - this includes recording monthly depreciation expense, tracking asset additions and disposals, posting related journal entries, and ensuring the subledger agrees to the general ledger monthlyCalculate and process bi‑weekly commissions - this includes gathering sales data, applying commission rate schedules, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate disbursementComplete and submit governmental and industry surveys - this includes gathering required financial and operational data, ensuring accuracy and consistency with internal records, and meeting all applicable filing deadlinesPrepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales and use tax returns in multiple jurisdictionsSupport annual audits and provide requested documentation to auditorsAnalyzing financial reports and recordsReporting financial health to upper management and directorsPerforming variance analysis and reconciling accountsMonitoring internal controlsImplementing and enforcing best practice accounting policies and proceduresReviewing journal entries for accuracyWorking independently and collaborativelyQualifications Bachelor's degree (Accounting/Finance preferred)5+ years professional accounting experienceCPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly preferredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsFamiliar with accounting software and programsComprehension of accounting principles and GAAPExperience in reconciling accountsDetail‑oriented, highly organized and efficientStrong communication skillsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
