Sakuu Corporation is a San Jose–based advanced manufacturing and battery technology company developing next-generation energy storage solutions using proprietary additive manufacturing processes. Sakuu is focused on scaling innovative battery production to support applications across electric vehicles, aerospace, and energy storage.
Role Summary
Sakuu is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and help scale the company’s financial infrastructure as manufacturing and transaction complexity increase. This role combines hands-on technical accounting with team leadership, process ownership, and cross-functional partnership. The position is fully on-site and reports to the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including standard costing and variance analysis
Partner with operations to ensure accuracy of production data, BOMs, and inventory movements
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff; establish close timelines and review standards
Experience with building and capital leases ASC 842
Lead audit and tax support, including PBC coordination
Design, implement, and improve accounting processes, controls, and system workflows
Support cash flow management, working capital analysis, and financial planning initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
6–9 years of progressive accounting experience, including people or process leadership
Strong knowledge of US GAAP
Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience
Advanced Excel
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced, on-site environment
Preferred Qualifications
Startup or high-growth company experience
CPA or CPA-eligible
ERP ownership experience
Experience supporting audits, fundraising, or scaling finance functions
ASC 606 and 842 experience
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $120,000 – $140,000 annually
