Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will be a key contributor within the accounting and finance organization, working closely with the CFO and EVP of Operations & Finance to support the firm's global operations. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance efforts, while driving process enhancements and supporting strategic business initiatives. The position is based in New York City at One Pennsylvania Plaza.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconciliations, management reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Support broker-dealer compliance through oversight of net capital calculations, reserve requirements, and other regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax support, and regulatory examinations.
  • Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, budgets, and performance reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with senior leadership on operational, financial, and strategic initiatives while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within financial services, broker-dealers, proprietary trading firms, or public accounting.
  • Knowledge of broker-dealer accounting, regulatory reporting, net capital requirements, and FINRA/SEC regulations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems, payroll platforms, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and communicate effectively with senior management, auditors, regulators, and business partners.
  • Series 27 license, FIN-OP experience, or willingness to pursue applicable licensing is a plus.
