This is an on-site position based at our corporate office in Murray, Utah, and reports directly to the Finance Controller.The Accounting Manager will be responsible to oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, profit share & associated tax W2 & 1099 filings, collections and fraudulent claims, bank and credit card reconciliations, intercompany transactions, ensure accurate accounting records, inventory management, asset management, assigned financial and government filing, including mine-related documents & report and document all accounting processes and procedures for multiple companies for training purposesThis is a hands-on management position. Please be prepared to provide accurate and up-to-date contact information for these references.ResponsibilitiesOversee the company's day-to-day accounting operationsSupervise, train, and support accounting team membersEstablish clear responsibilities, goals, deadlines, and performance expectations for the accounting teamReview accounting transactions and employee work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company proceduresOversee accounts payable, including invoice entry, purchase orders, supporting documentation, and vendor paymentsEnsure supplier invoices and supporting documentation are entered into Odoo accurately and on timeOversee accounts receivable, customer payments, credit accounts, collections, and past-due balancesMonitor outstanding accounts receivable and work to maintain an average collection period below 30 daysHelp collect bad debts and coordinate collection actions, claims, and judgments when necessaryDevelop, document, implement, and enforce effective credit and collections proceduresOversee payroll processing, including employee hours, deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, production pay, and sales commissionsOversee asset management to include legal and government requirements, registration, insurance, etc. Review daily bank reconciliations, deposits, cash transactions, and cash over/short recordsCoordinate intercompany billing and accounting transactionsMaintain accurate and current customer, vendor, payroll, and accounting recordsPrepare and review assigned financial, operational, and government reportsSupport financial reporting, cash flow monitoring, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance requirementsHelp coordinate assigned labor, fuel tax, DOT, and mine-safety reporting and recordsMonitor department expenses and ensure spending remains within approved budgetsCreate, document, and improve accounting standard operating proceduresEnsure accounting employees understand and consistently follow established proceduresUse Odoo to manage accounting activities, projects, records, reports, and process documentationIdentify accounting errors, communication gaps, and inefficient processes, and implement corrective solutionsWork closely with the Controller and company leadership on accounting priorities, projects, and company goalsProtect confidential employee, customer, vendor, payroll, and financial informationPerform additional accounting and management responsibilities as neededQualificationsRequired:At least 3 years of professional accounting experience or related fieldAccounting or Finance degree or equivalent professional accounting experience Experience supervising, training, or providing day-to-day leadership to accounting employeesStrong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, collections, bank reconciliations, and financial reportingExperience reviewing accounting transactions and resolving discrepanciesExperience establishing or improving accounting procedures and internal controlsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP softwareAbility to manage deadlines and maintain complete and accurate financial recordsAbility to delegate responsibilities, establish expectations, and hold employees accountableStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to handle confidential financial and employee information professionallyAbility to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, managers, customers, and vendorsDependable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities with limited supervisionAbility to pass dr*g screeningPreferred:Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or Accounting Team Lead is required.Experience using Odoo or a similar ERP systemExperience supporting multiple locations or related business entitiesExperience with credit policies, collections, bad debt, and customer account managementExperience with payroll taxes, garnishments, commissions, and government reportingExperience working in the construction, heavy equipment, manufacturing, quarry, distribution, or building materials industrySpanish-speaking ability is a plusScheduleThis is a full-time, salaried, on-site position working an average of approximately 45 hours per week.The schedule should generally fall during standard business hours.
