Role Summary

The Accounting Manager will work directly with the CFO and play a key role in strengthening the accounting function as the organization continues to grow. This newly created position is ideal for an accounting professional who has progressed through Staff and Senior level roles and is ready to expand their leadership responsibilities.

The Accounting Manager will own core accounting activities including close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management while helping improve systems, processes, and automation. The position will also gain exposure to integrating newly added operations into the company's accounting structure and offers a strong path toward Controller level leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month end and year end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and general ledger activity

• Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and controls

• Partner directly with the CFO on monthly reporting, financial analysis, and accounting initiatives

• Support ERP optimization, accounting automation, and process improvement initiatives

• Assist with the financial integration of newly added operations, including chart of accounts mapping and system integration

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities

• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare supporting documentation for annual audits

Key Requirements

• Five or more years of progressive general accounting experience, with seven to ten years considered an ideal range

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Career progression through Staff and Senior Accountant responsibilities with Accounting Manager level experience strongly preferred

• Strong hands on experience with month end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables and VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP with macro experience considered a plus

• ERP system experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred

• Technical mindset with an interest in accounting automation, systems optimization, and process improvement

• Strong communication skills, ownership mentality, and motivation to grow into higher level accounting leadership

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a private equity backed organization

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience

• Experience supporting the financial integration of acquisitions or new business operations

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience

• Experience in a small to midsized organization where accounting responsibilities extend across multiple areas rather than one specialized function

• Ability to identify inefficient processes and leverage technology and automation to improve accounting operations
