Lake Charles Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the Accounting Department and provide leadership for accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and related accounting functions.

The Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff, ensure accurate and timely financial processes, collaborate with management and auditors, and support departmental productivity and cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee Payroll Employees, Accounts Payable Employees, and Staff Accountant.
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of the Accounting Department.
  • Assist with accounting, maintenance, reconciliation, and reporting of accounting applications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely accounting records and financial reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital management, internal auditors, and external auditors.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, accounting procedures, and applicable guidelines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protect patient and financial information.
  • Participate in hospital and departmental cost-saving and productivity initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation and ongoing adherence to department policies and procedures.
  • Attend required departmental and organizational meetings.
  • Analyze accounting information, identify discrepancies or issues, and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience.
  • 7–10 years of accounting experience.
  • Previous accounting management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and professional information.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond professionally to inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies, and business partners.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Primarily sedentary office work with prolonged periods of sitting.
  • May occasionally require moving or adjusting objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Monday–Friday daytime office schedule.
  • May occasionally be required to work off shifts, weekends, or holidays based on projects or departmental needs.
