ARG is partnering with a client to identify a Supervisor, Accounting for a high-impact opportunity within a complex, high-volume accounting environment. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who brings both strong general ledger expertise and proven people management experience, along with the ability to bring structure, rigor, and process improvement to a fast-moving function.
This position will oversee key accounting activities related to accruals, prepaids, allocations, reconciliations, and month-end close, while helping improve workflow efficiency and overall scalability. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working in the details, leading others, and strengthening processes in an operationally complex business.
Position Overview
The Supervisor, Accounting will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the timely, accurate execution of month-end close activities. This individual will review work prepared by others, help maintain accounting accuracy across assigned areas, and contribute to process enhancements in an environment where attention to detail and sound judgment are essential.
This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to help build team capacity and create greater consistency across core accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting activities across assigned functional areas
Support and help lead the month-end close process
Manage accounting work related to accruals, prepaids, allocations, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Partner with leadership to improve accounting workflows, strengthen controls, and support operational scalability
Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives where appropriate
Support audit preparation, reporting needs, and ongoing documentation of accounting procedures
Supervise and develop team members while helping establish structure and accountability within the function
Assist with ERP-related initiatives, including testing upgrades and supporting process changes
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting required
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Prior people management experience is required
Strong experience with month-end close, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
Demonstrated ability to review work, identify issues, and ensure accurate, timely deliverables
Advanced Excel skills and strong comfort working with data
Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Ability to operate effectively in a detailed, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Experience
Experience in healthcare, retail, dental, or other multi-site, multi-entity, or high-volume environments
Experience working within shared services or other operationally complex accounting models
Experience with Oracle Fusion or a similar ERP system is preferred
