The Accounting Manager is responsible for a wide array of financial, strategic and leadership duties, including, but not limited to: strong involvement in the Division safety goals and actions; leading accounting and purchasing teammates and processes; training and development; overseeing all daily accounting and purchasing tasks and controls, such as the general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting and inventory activity; and various financial and analytical analyses driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the business locally and Corporate-wide. The Accounting Manager maintains oversight and execution of Nucor’s accounting and reporting related activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP); leads the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and purchasing policies; manages the period-end accounting system close process; ensures accuracy and completeness of financial reports with weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual on-time and accurate submissions; and leading ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, have proven leadership skills and must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field.
• Five (5) years experience in accounting or finance.
• Three (3) years leadership experience.

information so that others will understand.
• Leadership Presence and Courage - Willingness and confidence to have immediate and direct
conversations on critical alignment issues such as teamwork, building relationships, initiating and
supporting change, and production process issues that arise.

take on responsibilities and challenges to include introducing new ideas for the continuous improvement
of the work area.
• Coaching and Developing Others - Identifying the strengths and developmental needs of others to
include coaching, mentoring, teaching, training, or otherwise helping others to improve their skills to work
effectively.
• Judgement/Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose
the most appropriate one.
• Business Acumen - General business knowledge and an understanding of how Nucor makes money.
• CPA or CMA credential
• MBA or Master’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
• 1+ years supervisory or leadership experience
• 1+ years of working in a manufacturing industry
• 1+ years of Oracle ERP experience
