Recently privatized through a $10 billion acquisition, the company is entering a major growth phase — doubling assets under management and expanding the accounting organization. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the accounting function, work closely with senior leadership, and advance your career in a dynamic, fast‑growing environment.Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will oversee the corporate accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements, and efficient accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, technically strong accounting professional with experience managing a small team and supporting complex real‑estate transactions.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, property accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and variance analyses.Oversee significant transactions, including property acquisitions, sales, redevelopments, and financing activities.Support internal and external audits and maintain SOX compliance.Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members, setting clear goals and accountability.Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Apply advanced accounting principles to resolve complex issues and support process improvements.Act as a subject‑matter expert on accounting software and property operating systems.QualificationsEducation & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Accounting) is a plus.Experience4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities.Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.Public accounting experience (Big 4 or top‑tier firm) preferred.Real‑estate or REIT industry experience strongly desired.Skills & AttributesStrong technical accounting expertise, with an understanding of real‑estate complexities.Proven ability to manage and develop a high‑performing accounting team.Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.Seniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at High Country Search Group by 2xBenefitsMedical insuranceVision insurance401(k)Paid maternity leaveDisability insuranceGet notified about new Accounting Manager jobs in Denver, CO .#J-18808-Ljbffr
