Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization. This position manages accounting processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close, budgeting support, and internal controls. The Accounting Manager works closely with operational leadership, Finance, Human Resources, vendors, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This position provides leadership and guidance to accounting staff and plays an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and fiscal accountability.

This role pays an annual salary of $75,000 - $85,000.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Manage and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and other accounting transactions.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses.
  • Analyze financial results, identify variances, and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of revenue, expenses, cash, and other financial activity.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
  • Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation.
  • Monitor cash handling and cash reconciliation procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor departmental and operational expenses and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other financial service providers as needed.
  • Assist with annual audits and provide requested financial documentation and support.
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and other financial documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage fixed asset records and assist with capital expenditure tracking.
  • Support payroll accounting and reconciliation processes as needed.
  • Assist with financial systems implementation, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
  • Identify accounting discrepancies and investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Manage, train, coach, and develop accounting staff.
  • Manage staff schedules, workload distribution, performance expectations, and professional development.
  • Partner with operational leadership to provide financial guidance and support business decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience managing and developing accounting personnel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality, entertainment, sports, food and beverage, or a high-volume operational environment.
  • Experience with large-scale event operations or multi-department financial management.
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting software.
  • Experience managing financial operations across multiple departments or business units.
