A growing, privately held organization in the Denver area is seeking an Accounting Manager to play a key role in supporting its corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This position will have meaningful ownership over the month-end close, financial statements, and core accounting operations, while partnering closely with Finance leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and scalable processes.This is a strong opportunity for someone who is ready to step into a leadership position and enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and working closely with leadership in a collaborative, low-ego environment.ResponsibilitiesOwn and review the month-end close process, including journal entries, reclasses, reconciliations, variance analysis, and supplemental schedulesReview and analyze financial statements with a high degree of accuracy and efficiencyPresent financial results to Finance leadership and support reporting to senior managementOversee accounts receivable management and support cash flow reportingReview annual operating expense budgets across corporate departmentsOversee treasury management and banking relationshipsAssist with audit and tax requests, including preparation of schedules and support documentationReview payroll for 120+ employees and assist with internal reporting needsManage, coach, and develop members of the accounting team across AP, AR, GL, and reconciliationsSupport onboarding, training, and ongoing development of accounting staffIdentify opportunities for process improvement, stronger controls, and increased efficiencyCoordinate hybrid schedules, flex time, and responsible time off to ensure adequate coverageQualifications5–7+ years of progressive accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldStrong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting principlesExperience with month-end close and financial statement preparationPrior experience mentoring or informally leading others is a plus, but not requiredComfort operating in an evolving environment with some ambiguityStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independentlyExcellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionallyWhat We're Looking ForA proactive, ownership-driven accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details while also thinking about the bigger picture.
