Accounting ManagerThe client are a fast growing family run business, that have been a big name in the industry for a number of years. They are an industrial (components) manufacturer and are looking for an Accounting Manager to join the finance team. They will be supervising 2 junior members in the role, and will report directly into the VP, Finance. The role will focus on cost accounting, financial close, cash management and assisting the VP with the financial analysis/planning for the business.Job DescriptionThe successful Accounting Manager will:Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger activityPerform account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and ensure GAAP complianceMaintain documentation supporting financial reporting and audit readinessManufacturing & Cost AccountingManage inventory valuation using average or standard costing methodologiesAnalyze inventory transactions and prepare related adjusting entriesPartner with Operations to improve physical inventory accuracySupport Bills of Material (BOMs), labor routings, outsourced processing, scrap reporting, and manufacturing cost analysisAnalyze material, labor, overhead, and departmental spending variances to improve profitabilityCash ManagementOversee daily cash activity including accounts payable and accounts receivableMonitor banking activity and perform cash reconciliationsManage invoicing, collections, vendor setup, payment processing, and aging analysisCapital Assets & ComplianceLead fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure trackingCoordinate financial data for annual audits and tax reportingDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsBusiness PartnershipWork closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, HR, and executive leadershipSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiativesDocument and improve accounting workflows and ERP processesServe as the finance team's ERP subject matter expert for financial transactions and reportingMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
