Purpose and Scope/General Summary: The Mantiqueira USA (MTQ USA) team is seeking an Accounting Manager for our operations in Arizona.                        

This role will coordinate all the accounting activities of the business, including the operational side, the interactions with the corporate areas of JBS (Accounting and Tax, mainly) and internal/external audits. This includes working with plant team, corporate accounting teams and business leadership to provide timely and accurate information.

Responsibilities:

• Period close journal entries, including accruals and complete accounting reconciliations.
• Update and maintain policies, procedures, and calendars referred to the month end process.
• Oversee production accounting, inventory management, and expense reporting.
• Coordinate month end close process with the sites to achieve reduction in the reporting deadlines and increased accuracy of the reports.
• Work with the JBS accounting, tax, and consolidation teams to enhance month end and quarter end activities.
• Support the development of weekly P&L cycles and reconciliations to month end results.
• Issuing and reconciliation of Capex reports and Pullets capitalization/amortization.
• Assure adherence to general accepted accounting policies. 
• Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
• Provide accounting guidance for all the sites and areas.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget.
• Work on the processes, efficiency, and automation fronts to promote continuous improvement of activities in the accounting area.
• Support the FPA area in the development of management reports.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years in an accounting role
• Strong organizational skills and acute attention to details
• Exceptional analytical skills, accuracy and attention to details, and good research skills
• Ability to work as a member or a leader of a team
• Advanced skills in Excel required
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed
• Previous management experience is appreciated (1 to 3 years)
• Passion for the industry and accounting
• Experience in SAP, Business Objects, and other systems is helpful
• Plant operational accounting, live animal or meat experience desired
• Plant controller experience is a plus
• Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

• Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
• Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
• Base salary range of $70,000 - $90,000;
• Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
