Accounting Manager - Boston, MA - AI & Technology Consulting
Our team is working with a leading AI & Technology consulting firm looking to hire an Accounting Manager for their growing team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the close and financial reporting process across multiple entities, owning key aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting while preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and resolving accounting discrepancies. Responsibilities include applying U.S. GAAP and supporting IFRS across technical areas such as revenue recognition, leases, consolidations, stock-based compensation, and purchase accounting, while researching guidance and preparing technical accounting memos. The position partners closely with FP&A, HR, Legal, Tax, and external auditors to support financial reporting, analytical reviews, and international accounting requirements. Additionally, the role focuses on strengthening internal controls, improving accounting processes, and leveraging technology and AI tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities:
Own key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
Prepare and review technically sound journal entries
Prepare account reconciliations and ensure balances fully tie out
Support audit readiness and provide documentation to external auditors
Apply U.S. GAAP across revenue recognition, leases and subleases, accruals, loan accounting, stock-based compensation, consolidation accounting, and purchase price accounting
Support IFRS and international accounting requirements
Evaluate accounting treatments and prepare supporting documentation and technical accounting memos
Perform detailed analytical reviews and explain period-over-period variances
Partner with FP&A to ensure consistency between accounting and financial reporting
Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
Support accounting activities across multiple entities and currencies
Partner with HR, Legal, Tax, and FP&A teams on accounting and reporting matters
Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and advisors
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
Strengthen internal controls and support continuous improvement initiatives
Leverage technology and AI tools (e.g., Anthropic Claude) to improve productivity and scalability
Qualification:
CPA certification
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5–7 years of accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience
Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP
Working knowledge of IFRS
Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred
Corporate tax experience
Experience working in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment
Experience supporting audits and technical accounting projects
