Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and control of all financial transactions impacting plant performance. As a key member of the Plant Management team, this role provides timely financial analysis, supports operational decision-making, leads month-end close and financial reporting processes, and manages annual planning and forecasting initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage the month-end closing process to ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with company policies.
- Verify ERP modules and system interfaces are functioning properly with the general ledger.
- Review journal entries, trial balances, and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Report financial results, performance metrics, and analysis to Plant Management and Corporate Leadership.
- Monitor cash requirements and support effective cash flow management.
- Analyze financial results compared to budgets and forecasts while providing recommendations.
- Participate in monthly KPI review meetings and operational discussions.
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
- Coordinate external audits as needed.
- Ensure inventory records accurately reflect all transactions, including shipping, receiving, transfers, and scrap.
- Partner with Production Control to maintain accurate bills of materials and standard costs.
- Support physical inventory activities and cost improvement initiatives.
- Approve plant purchases within assigned authority levels.
- Provide financial support and analysis for plant operations and special projects.
