Accounting Manager - AP/AR

This role oversees end-to-end transaction processing, vendor payments, customer billing, collections, reconciliations, and cash management while partnering with Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and Operations teams. The Manager, Accounts Payable and Receivable will lead the organization's integrated AP and AR functions, ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, compliance, and strong financial controls.

About the Role
The Manager, Accounts Payable and Receivable will lead the organization's integrated AP and AR functions, ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, compliance, and strong financial controls. This role oversees end-to-end transaction processing, vendor payments, customer billing, collections, reconciliations, and cash management while partnering with Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations.
• Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls for AP/AR activities.
• Oversee vendor payments, employee reimbursements, customer billing, collections, cash applications, and reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow drivers and working capital metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with Procurement, Commercial, Operations, and Finance stakeholders to resolve transaction issues.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits related to AP, AR, and financial controls.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, aging reports, exception trends, and service-level metrics.
• Lead process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives.
• Recruit, coach, develop, and manage AP/AR team members.
• Promote accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, or shared services.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing AP, AR, or transactional finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of cash management, financial controls, reconciliations, and compliance.
• Experience supporting internal/external audits, regulatory reviews, and control testing.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process improvements.
• Experience with financial process automation and operational optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification.
• Experience in a shared services or high-volume financial operations environment.
• Experience driving financial process standardization and automation.
