A growing Japanese food consumer products company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and lead a small accounting team. This is a hands-on management role responsible for supervising Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions while actively participating in accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements.
Location: Dallas / Irving, Texas (100% onsite)
Salary: Approximately $75,000 annually (negotiable based on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team of 3 accounting staff members responsible for AP and AR functions
- Review AP/AR activities, reconciliations, aging reports, collections, and payment processes
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial schedules
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Assist with financial reporting, audits, and accounting analysis
- Oversee cash management and strengthen internal controls
- Identify accounting issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions
- Provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to accounting staff
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Finance teams
- Support communication and reporting to the Japan headquarters when necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
- Ability to work fully onsite in the Dallas area
- Must be able to commute to the office and work regular office hours
- Must have valid authorization to work in the United States without any visa sponsorship (this position does not offer visa sponsorship)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory or people-management experience
- CPA or CPA-track candidate preferred
- Japanese language skills are a plus
- Experience in retail, consumer products, wholesale, or distribution environments
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems
- Experience improving accounting processes, internal controls, or workflow automation
- Experience supporting audits and financial reporting requirements
