Accounting Clerk – $18.00/Hour
Location: Claremore, OK
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $18.00 per hour
HireCall is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a valued client. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting or bookkeeping experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced office environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and customer service.
Responsibilities
As an Accounting Clerk, you'll provide support across multiple accounting functions, including:
- Enter sales orders and purchase orders into the accounting system
- Receive merchandise into inventory and reconcile receiving documents
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and vendor invoices for accounts payable
- Process accounts payable invoices and issue payments
- Assist with accounts receivable, customer payments, account inquiries, and collections
- Process credit memos and returned merchandise documentation
- Prepare daily bank deposits and assist with cash balancing
- Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with daily and monthly accounting reports and spreadsheets
- Answer incoming phone calls and greet customers professionally
- File and scan documents while maintaining organized records
- Cross-train with other accounting team members to provide departmental support
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or office accounting experience preferred
- Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Professional customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods throughout the workday
- Stand and walk as needed
- Frequent use of hands for typing and data entry
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Ability to maintain focus and accuracy while performing repetitive tasks
