Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Accountant, the Accounting Clerk will perform accounting and finance duties.  The Accounting Clerk supports the financial operations of the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) by performing routine accounting tasks including data entry, account reconciliations, and assisting in financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP, HRSA, and federal grant requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within healthcare or nonprofit finance.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for entering accounts payable invoices into accounting system 
  • Logging front desk deposits, credit card payments, and mail in checks 
  • Reconcile invoices and deposits using Intact Software, Bill.com, Excel, and EClinicalWorks and Monitor cash collections, reconciliations, and bank deposits
  • Reconciles credit card statements and performs bank reconciliations
  • Audits 340B payments and insurance remits
  • Opening and distributing mail
  • Assists in budget preparation for Health Center and various programs
  • Assists with grant documentation, budgets, and reporting as needed
  • Complies with all Health Center policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance, including privacy of protected health information
  • Perform related work as required and other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or CFO

Qualifications:
 
  • Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping in a health care setting
  • Ability to travel to all locations
  • Ability to use computer accounting software, as well as other computer applications
  • Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
  • Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and Health Center information
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate
