Accounting Clerk (Accounts Receivable) - Contract
Location: Western Suburbs of Portland, OR
Schedule: On-site, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Duration: Contract through December 31

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an Accounting Clerk with a focus on Accounts Receivable to support the finance team during a busy period. This role will be responsible for processing customer payments, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting deductions and returns activity, and assisting with various accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily accounts receivable processing and customer account activity
Apply customer payments accurately and research payment discrepancies
Collect, organize, and maintain deduction documentation
Process deduction requests and support resolution efforts
Monitor returns activity and maintain related records and supporting documentation
Enter financial data into the ERP system and verify accuracy
Assist with account reconciliations and transaction reviews
Maintain accurate records for invoices, payments, deductions, credits, and returns
Support customer portal activity and account maintenance
Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve routine accounting issues
Assist with additional accounting functions, including accounts payable support
Qualifications
2+ years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts receivable
Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Experience in distribution, e-commerce, wholesale, supply chain, or similar industries preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
Experience working within an ERP system
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Payment application and cash posting experience
Accounts receivable reconciliation experience
Experience processing deductions, credits, and returns
Familiarity with customer portals and account management systems
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently
