Position Overview

Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with an established organization in the construction and real estate industry seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to support its Accounts Payable department.

This individual will primarily focus on processing invoices for the real estate division, assisting with an existing backlog, and supporting the construction accounting team as needed. The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounts payable experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely submission for approval.

• Review and match invoices with purchase orders, packing slips, and supporting documentation.

• Enter, scan, and route invoices through electronic accounting systems and approval workflows.

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with invoice processing for the real estate division, including coordinating approvals with property managers.

• Communicate with vendors, internal departments, and project superintendents to resolve invoice discrepancies and missing documentation.

• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on pending approvals to ensure timely processing.

  
  
• 
  

• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation within a paperless AP environment.

  
  
• 
  

• Assist the construction accounting team with additional invoice processing and departmental projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 
  

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience required.

  
  
• 
  

• Experience processing invoices, coding expenses, and matching purchase orders with supporting documentation.

  
  
• 
  

• Previous experience working with an ERP or accounting software system required.

  
  
• 
  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and email-based communication.

  
  
• 
  

• Comfortable working within a paperless accounting environment.

  
  
• 
  

• Experience with Sage Timberline, Sage 300 CRE, or TimberScan preferred.

  
  
• 
  

• Construction or real estate accounting experience is a plus.

  
  
• 
  

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new systems quickly.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a busy accounting team.
