Job Title: Accounting Associate
Location: Philadelphia, Pa

Our client, a prominent Philadelphia nonprofit, is on the market to add an Accounting Associate to their team. The Accounting Associate plays a key role in supporting financial operations and program administration within a structured finance environment. This role is responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining data integrity, supporting reporting and compliance activities, and coordinating across multiple stakeholders. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to support program workflows and data-driven decision-making
Responsibilities
Process and manage donation workflows, including accurate entry, documentation, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations
Reconcile contributions across multiple entities and identify and resolve discrepancies
Generate, record, and distribute financial documentation and acknowledgments in line with regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate stakeholder and financial data, including tracking engagement and historical information
Coordinate allocation processes and ensure alignment with applicable guidelines and policies
Track and reconcile funds, including preparing transfers and monitoring usage timelines
Support compliance activities, including audits, filings, and reporting requirements
Analyze financial and program data to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities
Coordinate communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment
Support board and committee activities, including logistics, materials preparation, and follow-ups
Assist with event coordination and program-related initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to process improvements and special projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
3+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, operations, or program coordination
Experience working with databases and reporting tools required
Familiarity with regulated programs, nonprofit environments, or similar industries is a plus
