POSITION DESCRIPTION: 
Axia is seeking a detail-oriented and highly passionate Accounting Associate to join our team and play a key role in supporting our residential renewable energy business. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of GAAP accounting. In this role, you will also need a high level of attention to detail, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The Accounting Associate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting activities, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial transactions, month-end processes, and audits. This position requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic setting, can consistently execute under pressure, and contribute to team-wide initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and maintain financial integrity.
This position will be based out of our office in Irvine, CA with an in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Accurately input financial transactions into accounting software, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports. 
  • Process incoming customer payments, ensuring timely and accurate posting to accounts. 
  • Assist in the preparation of aging reports and provide regular updates to management on outstanding balances. 
  • Assist with processing accounts payable invoices, generate customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments with various departments. 
  • Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies. 
  • Assist in preparing end-of-month accounting process, which includes reconciling accounts, making adjusting entries, generating financial statements, and ensuring accuracy of financial records. 
  • Assist with providing support during internal and external audits by compiling necessary documents. 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree with 2 years professional work experience or a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field with 1 year of professional work experience.
  • Strong academical understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards. 
  • Experience working with ERP systems and databases.  
  • Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment.   
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills. 
  • Knowledge of financial systems, analysis methodologies and technical standards applicable to corporate accounting and finance. 
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines. 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Experience working with NetSuite.
