Location:         Moline, IL 61265
Duration:         16 Months – Possible Extension
Schedule:         Monday–Tuesday: Start at 6:30 AM for team payroll processing

                        Wednesday–Friday: Flexible start time

Job Overview

The Accounting Associate III will support weekly payroll processing, accounting activities, data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to independently resolve complex payroll issues while handling confidential employee information.

Major Purpose

·         Perform complex clerical accounting activities involving: Calculations, Data analysis, Reconciliations, Verifications, Accounting postings

·         Ensure accuracy and validity of accounting and payroll processes.

·         Work with limited supervision/direction.

Job Responsibilities

Payroll Responsibilities

·         Process and analyze weekly: Employee time, Earnings, Deductions, Withholdings

·         Calculate accurate net pay while ensuring compliance with: Union contracts, HR policies, Unit policies

·         Independently analyze and resolve complex payroll issues.

·         Respond to employee questions regarding pay and payroll processes.

·         Provide payroll-related training and guidance.

·         Handle confidential employee and payroll information appropriately.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Produce accurate reports by collecting data from multiple sources.

·         Use data management systems to retrieve required information.

·         Monitor and analyze financial/payroll data using established systems.

·         Extract, combine, and summarize data to generate reports.

·         Prepare moderately complex documents using standard office software.

·         Create and maintain document management systems.

·         Gather and summarize information for financial and operational reports.

·         Follow organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and codes of conduct.

·         Obtain appropriate authorization for exceptions to mandatory procedures.

·         Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation.

·         Build strong working relationships with peers, HR, business partners, and other functional teams.

·         Participate in training, coaching, and professional development.

Education

Required:

·         Associate or Bachelor's degree in: Accounting, Business, Related discipline

·         Equivalent experience may be considered.

 

Experience

·         Experience working independently in an accounting/payroll environment.

·         Ability to handle complex data analysis and payroll-related issues.

·         Candidates with 13 months–3 years of relevant experience are well suited for the role.

 

Desired Skills

·         Knowledge of payroll and payroll taxes.

·         Experience maintaining confidential employee information.

·         Proficiency with SAP.

·         Experience with IBM/Host applications such as: TSO (Time Sharing Option), RMDS (Report Management and Distribution System)
