Accounting Assistant Job Description
Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant supports the finance team by performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks. This role helps ensure accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and overall efficiency within the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and payments
Reconcile bank statements and financial records
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
Support payroll processing as needed
Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial data
Provide administrative support to the accounting team
Assist with audits and compliance reporting
Hourly - $25.00-$27.00
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and time management abilities
Preferred Skills
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines
