Location: Sacramento, CA Compensation: $22-$25 per hour
Position Summary
Our client in Sacramento is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support their accounting operations. This role reports directly to the Controller, who oversees a team of four, and works closely with the Controller, Accountant, and Payroll Administrator. The Accounting Assistant will provide critical day-to-day accounting support and help ensure accurate, timely financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records
Support payroll processing, including data collection and verification
Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger entries
Prepare and organize financial reports, schedules, and documentation
File, scan, and maintain accounting and payroll records in accordance with company policies
Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting and payroll
Support month-end and year-end close activities as needed
Perform other administrative and accounting-related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma required
Associate's degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred
Minimum of 6 months of accounting or bookkeeping support experience
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
