Job Title: Accounting Assistant I
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Type: Contract
Compensation: $25.00
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 9 a.m.-1 p.m., approximately 20–25 hours a week

Responsibilities:

• Enter invoices from vendors and subcontractors.
• Print and mail checks with supporting documentation.
• Process check requests.
• Set up new vendors and subcontractors and request W-9 forms as needed.
• Maintain and update sales tax exemption documentation.
• Follow up on expired certificates of insurance (COIs).
• Upload and maintain accounting documents in DocuWare.
• Provide general support to the Accounting Department.

Requirements:

• Hands-on accounts payable experience, particularly invoice entry, check processing, and vendor record maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
