Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant will provide support to the accounting department by handling basic financial tasks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely processing of transactions. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update financial records
- Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Assist in preparing financial reports
- Communicate with vendors and internal staff regarding billing inquiries
- Perform general administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field preferred)
- 1+ year of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
