Description

Coastal Conservation Association Florida (CCA Florida) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to join our team. This full-time position (40 hours per week) plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory tracking, data entry, deposits, and record management. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working with multiple departments to ensure financial and inventory records remain current and reliable.

Accounting Assistant

The CCA Florida Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting the Controller and the Accounting Assistant Manager with daily accounting department operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, deposits, payments, and inventory data management

Essential Job Functions

  • Processing of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Enter inventory data (ingoing and outgoing).
  • Maintain accurate inventory data.
  • Accurately inputs deposit and payment information into the accounting system.
  • Responsible for filing deposits and payments.
  • Assists with and makes recommendations for the inventory control system.
  • Responsible for assisting with scanning, copying and digitizing accounting files.
  • Assists Controller with other accounting related responsibilities, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of CCA Florida operations.
  • Basic knowledge of how an accounting system works and how to enter data.
  • Knowledge of basic office administration procedures and policies.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Extremely effective customer service skills (internal customers).
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Microsoft Excel experience.

Abilities

  • Able to effectively communicate with Controller and CCA Florida team.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to take initiative and make general inventory control recommendations.
  • Ability to accurately input data into the accounting the system and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to interact with multiple departments (warehouse, regional directors, administrative director, accounting).
  • Must be able to lift 20-25 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree or equivalent training/experience in accounting is strongly preferred. This position may occasionally have access to confidential information. Ability to maintain confidentiality is critical.

Experience:

  • Accounting: 1 year (Required)

Additional Information

2+ years of experience in an administrative role or part-time accounting role.
