About the Position
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and organized Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable (AP) to join our accounting team. This position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing multi-unit restaurant company.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with numbers, is highly organized, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system.
- Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries.
- Download and organize bank statements.
- Assist with bank transfers and other banking activities.
- Maintain organized accounting records and electronic files.
- Support month-end closing activities.
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior accounting, bookkeeping, or Accounts Payable experience preferred.
- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience is a plus.
- Experience with restaurant accounting is a plus.
- Experience with Yooz, Sage Intacct, Sage, or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Experience processing a high volume of invoices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn new accounting software quickly.
