    Description

    Title: Accounting Assistant- Part Time

    Department: Accounting

    Location: Holliston, MA - Onsite

    Schedule: Flexible part-time schedule to be determined

    Hours: 20 per week

    Summary:

    Pure Hockey is a privately owned specialty sporting goods company with more than 100 hockey retail stores and two e-commerce businesses. As a growing organization, we are looking for a Part-Time Accounting Assistant to join our experienced accounting team and contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Process invoices and obtain appropriate approvals for payment.
    • Match checks to invoices and supporting documentation.
    • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date check register.
    • Record check mailing dates and maintain payment records.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and research payment discrepancies.
    • Assist with bank reconciliations.
    • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and other accounting issues.
    • Prepare and mail checks.
    • Track weekly accounting documents and ensure records are complete and organized.
    • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
    • Order deposit slips, bank bags, and other banking supplies.
    • Maintain organized accounting files and financial records.
    • Assist with accounts payable functions.
    • Perform general accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
    • Strong communication and follow-through.
    • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
    • Experience with accounting software is preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Reliable and professional with a strong work ethic.
