Accountant

VENTEON and Harvard Resource Solutions are hiring an experienced Accountant to provide accounting support during a project. The primary focus of this assignment will be reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling general ledger and balance sheet accounts to ensure financial records are complete and accurate. The ideal candidate will have excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills, and the ability to research and resolve account discrepancies with minimal supervision. 

Location:  couple days per week in Ypsilanti, MI and couple days per week in Litchfield, MI

Project Accountant Account Reconciliations

Requirements of the General Ledger Accountant: 

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing organization.

• Strong experience performing general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with formulas, lookups, and PivotTables.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet project deadlines.

• Ability to start work quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a short term account reconciliation project

• Perform detailed general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Review account activity and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, aged items, and unreconciled balances.

• Research and resolve accounting variances and outstanding reconciliation items.

• Review general ledger activity for accuracy, appropriate account classification, and completeness.

• Assist with accounting clean-up initiatives and resolution of outstanding account issues.

• Provide status updates regarding completed reconciliations, outstanding items, and issues requiring management review.
