    About the Role

    As an Accountant, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, performing account reconciliations, and providing financial analysis across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with multiple departments, contribute to process improvements, and support the financial health of a mission-driven organization.

    Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in our Tustin office)

    Schedule: Standard business hours

    What You'll Do

    • Maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
    • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, analyses, and supporting documentation.
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve variances.
    • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
    • Review financial transactions and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
    • Prepare financial and operational reports while meeting established deadlines.
    • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and identify trends that support informed business decisions.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
    • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
    • Support process improvement initiatives and special projects.
    • Work cross-functionally with departments such as IT and other business partners on billing, reporting, and financial matters.
    • Deliver professional customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    What You'll Bring

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2 to 4 years of accounting or finance experience.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
    • Experience preparing journal entries and supporting general ledger accounting functions.
    • Experience performing account reconciliations and financial analysis.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and business functions.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Three or more years of experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities.
    • Experience researching and explaining financial variances.
    • Experience with Sage 300, Microsoft Dynamics, HSP, or similar accounting systems.
    • Exposure to accounts payable, financial reporting, or audit support functions.
    • Experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced accounting environment.
