Accountant

Responsible for the efficient operation of the day-to-day activities of the accounting including general ledgers, account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed asset recording, banking transactions, accounts payable, check runs and monthly bank and other external reconciliations. Meador, an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a Direct HireConstruction Staff Accountant for a company located in the Pasadena area (77506). Responsible for the efficient operation of the day-to-day activities of the accounting including general ledgers, account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed asset recording, banking transactions, accounts payable, check runs and monthly bank and other external reconciliations.

As the Construction Staff Accountant, you will:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring, adjusting, and month-end entries.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile other external accounts and financial records.
• Record and maintain fixed asset transactions, including additions, disposals, and depreciation-related entries.
• Process and record daily banking transactions and ensure accurate cash activity.
• Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, coding, and payment preparation.
• Prepare and process check runs while ensuring proper approvals and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities and related financial reporting.
• Assist the Owner with the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with the Company's annual budgeting process, including gathering financial information and preparing supporting schedules.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax reports and maintain compliance with applicable tax requirements.
• Perform manual payroll processing, including calculating payroll, deductions, and related payroll entries.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records, reconciliations, and transactions.
• Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and other accounting-related projects as needed.

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Construction industry experience REQUIRED
• QuickBooks Online experience REQUIRED

Compensation and Perks:

• $65K - $75K
• Direct hire
