Accountant

Position Overview
We are seeking a General Accountant to join the accounting team of an established international manufacturing company in the Memphis area. This position will support the month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, forecasting, and general accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly closing process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast.
• Assist with quarterly forecasting and annual budget preparation.
• Support inventory and standard costing activities.
• Assist internal and external auditors with requested financial information and documentation.
• Participate in the company's future transition to SAP S/4HANA.
• Prepare various sales, expense, and financial analyses as needed.
• Work with other departments to research and resolve accounting issues.
• Cross-train on additional accounting functions and provide support to the finance team as needed.
• Support company safety and quality initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Exposure to standard costing and inventory accounting is a plus.
• Chemical industry or international business experience is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• ERP system experience preferred; SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
