We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management, CAM reconciliation, bookkeeping, reconciliation, and commercial real estate accounting. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This role involves working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, ensuring legal requirements compliance, processing accounts payable and receivable, and managing invoices and tax payments.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update accounting records and files
  • Analyze budgets and create expense reports
  • Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns
  • Meet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issues
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities, and expenses)
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct regular audits and recommend corrective financial action plans
  • Prepare financial reports for management to review
  • Coordinate with the accounting team to work on financial forecasting
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Manage obligations to suppliers, customers, and third-party vendors
  • Process bank deposits
  • Reconcile financial books including bank statements and quarterly tax filings
  • Return documents to clients in a timely manner
  • Enter financial transactions into the appropriate computer software
  • Receive and record vouchers, cash and checks
  • Produce reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, etc.
  • Perform CAM reconciliations and other property management related tasks
  • Address queries and complaints by clients

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, with a focus on property management and commercial real estate accounting
  • Proven experience with CAM reconciliation, bookkeeping, reconciliation, and commercial real estate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting laws and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
