Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing organization. This role will be responsible for reconciliations, accounts payable, inventory accounting, landed cost analysis, intercompany accounting, and month-end close activities. The company leverages technology and AI-driven processes to support continued growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliations, including cash, credit cards, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, inventory, and landed costs.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and maintain vendor relationships.
• Track and reconcile employee expense activity and corporate card transactions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting account schedules.
• Support inventory valuation, cost accounting, and landed cost tracking.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between multiple entities.
• Support sales tax compliance, audits, and financial reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, including the use of AI and automation tools within accounting operations.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar accounting systems.
• Experience with inventory accounting, landed costs, and intercompany transactions.
• Manufacturing, distribution, e-commerce, or multi-entity accounting experience.
• Experience supporting audits, tax compliance, or process improvement initiatives.
• Exposure to AI-driven tools, automation technologies, or leveraging artificial intelligence to improve accounting, reporting, and operational processes.
