Role Summary
The Senior Accountant Contractor will play a critical role within the Global Accounting Operations team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This position will partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, and Accounts Payable teams to ensure accounting transactions are properly recorded and analyzed.
This individual will contribute to month end close activities, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and post journal entries including accruals, allocations, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments
Manage and support month end close processes and external journal entry submissions
Prepare and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations and perform detailed variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
Partner with Finance, Treasury, and Accounts Payable teams to address accounting related matters and provide financial guidance
Assist with quarterly reviews, annual audits, and requests from internal and external auditors
Analyze accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Support SOX compliance activities and ensure adherence to established internal controls
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
5+ years of progressive accounting experience in staff and senior accounting roles
Experience working within a large public company or complex corporate accounting environment
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, month end close, accrual accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and reporting on variances
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience working with Google Workspace applications including Sheets and Docs
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and perform effectively in a fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle Financial Systems
CPA certification
Experience supporting public company accounting and SOX compliance initiatives
Process improvement and documentation experience
