Olive is seeking an Accountant to join our client’s team near the Galleria area in Houston, TX. This hands-on role supports the North America Marketing & Logistics (NAML) region and is responsible for end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, treasury functions, compliance, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will partner closely with commercial and logistics teams to support financial performance, reporting accuracy, and operational decision-making.
Full-time, direct hire opportunity (not a temporary position)
Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with flexibility on start/end times

• Manage journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
• Lead month-end close activities including cash, freight, SG&A, payroll, leases, and intercompany accounting
• Ensure accurate accruals and compliance with IFRS and US GAAP standards
• Support consolidation processes and FCCS financial reporting
• Oversee AP/AR processes, aging analysis, and customer credit exposure
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Monitor bank transactions, factoring activity, and freight accounting
• Record payroll and intercompany transactions and reconcile balances
• Perform lease accounting activities and settlements
• Execute SOX controls and support internal and external audit requests
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Partner with commercial and logistics teams to provide financial analysis and KPI reporting
• Support forecasting, performance management, and business decision-making
• Participate in strategic finance projects and process improvement initiatives
• Act as a subject matter expert and mentor while promoting best practices and continuous improvement
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required; CPA or CMA preferred
• 6+ years of accounting experience required; global or multi-entity experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, SOX, and internal controls
• Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
