We are building one of the most ambitious sports platforms in South Florida.THE OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of FTL UTD Holdings. This role will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the continued growth of a multi-entity sports platform.You will play a key role in core accounting functions, assist with close processes, and contribute to building scalable financial infrastructure across the organization.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral Ledger & Journal EntriesPrepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries with proper documentation and supportMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completenessAssist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and deferralsAccount ReconciliationPerform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in a timely mannerReconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepanciesMaintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrued liabilitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable SupportProcess vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests for paymentAssist with billing, collections follow-up, and cash receipts postingMonitor aging reports and escalated outstanding items as neededFinancial ReportingAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsGenerate reports and analysis to support management decision-makingSupport the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiriesCompliance & ControlsEnsure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policiesIdentify and communicate internal control weaknesses to managementSupport tax filings including sales tax, 1099 preparation, and property tax returnsOther DutiesAssist with special projects, process improvements, and system implementationsCross-train with other accounting team members to provide backup coveragePerform ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by managementQUALIFICATIONSRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field1–3 years of accounting experience (internships considered for entry-level roles)Solid understanding of GAAP principles and the accounting cycleProficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar)Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracyAbility to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferredCPA candidate or active pursuit of CPA licensureExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll processesSports or entertainment industry experience preferredWHAT WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FORWe're looking for someone who is detail-driven, reliable, and takes ownership of their work.
