The Job Costing Accountant supports the day-to-day job costing function for a high-volume manufacturing and trade show services business. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely recognition of revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS), proper allocation of costs to jobs, and adherence to GAAP.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional accounting certifications or continuing education are beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records and accounting documentation.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience using accounting software, spreadsheets, and enterprise financial systems.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive financial information.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance; experience in job costing, cost accounting, or manufacturing/project-based environments is a plus.
• Working knowledge of GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, or corporate finance is preferred.
• Job costing, cost accounting, manufacturing, or project accounting experience preferred
• Experience with ERP systems, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting software is beneficial.
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax preparation, compliance, or internal controls is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate professionalism, analytical thinking, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are well positioned for success as a Accountant.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• ASC 606 experience preferred
• ERP experience required; SAP strongly preferred

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to review detailed financial documents and perform accurate data analysis.
• Ability to perform normal office duties while maintaining productivity and attention to detail throughout the workday.

What You Will Do

As a Accountant you will prepare and analyze financial reports, maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile financial records, support budgeting activities, monitor financial transactions, assist with audits, ensure compliance with accounting standards, prepare journal entries, and help provide accurate financial information that supports business operations and strategic decision-making.

A Accountant contributes to organizational success by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting strategic financial planning. This position requires analytical thinking, organization, and strong attention to detail.
