Client Details
A mission-driven organization is seeking a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant to provide broad-based accounting support across a collaborative finance team. This individual will assist with month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, AP, AR, banking activities, and various accounting projects while partnering closely with finance leadership.
Description
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking activities
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation
Support audit preparation and requests
Investigate and resolve account discrepancies
Assist with cash management activities
Support reporting initiatives and ad hoc accounting projects
Partner with finance team members across various functions
Provide hands-on support throughout accounting operations
Profile
5-8 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to multiple accounting functions
Hands-on experience supporting AP, AR, payroll, banking, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
Strong understanding of month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
Adaptable accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Comfortable wearing multiple hats and supporting a variety of accounting and finance initiatives
Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new processes and responsibilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across finance teams
Nonprofit experience is a plus, but candidates from other industries with broad accounting exposure are encouraged to apply
Ideal background includes Staff Accountants or Senior Accountants from small to mid-sized organizations where they have gained well-rounded accounting experience rather than a narrow specialty.
