Our client is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Accountant to support financial close, reporting, revenue accounting (asc606) and compliance activities across multiple entities. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving process improvements across systems and teams.This role is hybrid - 3 days onsite in Downtown Chicago and 2 days remote.Key ResponsibilitiesLead assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across multiple entitiesRevenue recognition and revenue accounting (asc606)Prepare and review complex journal entries, including revenue recognition, intercompany, inventory, accruals, leases, and manufacturing-related accountingPerform and review account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentationDrive timely resolution of reconciling items and unusual variancesSupport and review financial reporting submissions within consolidation systems (e.g., OneStream)Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policiesInternal Controls & SOX ComplianceOwn and execute key SOX controls, including documentation and evidence retentionPartner with internal and external auditors to support audit requests and walkthroughsIdentify control gaps and support remediation effortsMaintain and enhance process documentation and standard operating proceduresERP & Systems IntegrationWork across ERP environments (e.g., SAP and other financial systems) to ensure accurate data flow and reporting integritySupport system transitions and automation initiativesAssist in mapping, alignment, and reconciliation across reporting platformsPartner with IT and Finance teams to resolve structural or reporting inconsistenciesBusiness Partnership & Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Finance and operational teams to ensure accurate financial representationSupport balance sheet reviews with business stakeholdersInvestigate and resolve accounting issues with cross-functional teamsProvide technical accounting guidance to junior staff and business partnersProcess Improvement & Continuous ImprovementIdentify inefficiencies in close and reporting processes and implement automation or standardization improvementsLead initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy, timeliness, and transparencySupport special projects and ad hoc initiativesEducation:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA or equivalent certification preferredExperience:Minimum of 3 years (or close to) of progressive accounting experienceSkills:Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, or similar platforms)Experience supporting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and familiarity with the COSO frameworkAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with reporting tools and PowerPointStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCompensationThe expected salary range for this position is $90,000 – $110,000 annually , depending on experience, qualifications, and locationThe company offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.
