    Role Overview

    We are seeking an Accountant to manage financial records and ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency in financial reporting. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and contributes to reliable financial data used for business decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accurately code and post cash receipts to the appropriate general ledger accounts

    • Prepare monthly cash receipts and related payables reports

    • Reconcile and balance cash receipts to ensure accuracy

    • Assist with the annual financial audit as needed

    • Prepare and post journal entries, including cost allocations, grant activity, and monthly accruals

    • Conduct annual physical inventory of fixed assets and maintain the fixed asset tracking system

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

    • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry (5+ years preferred)

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    • Strong experience with billing and invoicing processes

    • Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable, collections, and Accounts Payable processing

    • Working knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and revenue recognition (percentage of completion) in accordance with GAAP

    • Ability to work part-time during standard business hours to support client needs

    • Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus, but not required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with accounting software, including familiarity with QuickBooks

    • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills across departments

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive, professional attitude
