This is an entry-level accountant position. The Financial Services & Contracts (FSC) Accountant Associate supports the financial operations of units within the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (VCEM) , Vice Provost for Engaged Learning & Teaching Innovation (VPELTI) , and Vice Provost for Strategy & Affectiveness (VPSA) .ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting, Budgeting & AccountingPrepare, analyze, and distribute financial reports for VCEM, VPELTI, and VPSA.Reconcile accounts, review financial transactions, process fund transfers, and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.Audit P-Card transactions and Emburse Expense Reports.Develop budget projections and financial forecasts, and monitor budget performance.Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to support strategic planning and resource allocation.Financial Support & Customer ServiceProvide financial guidance, training, and support to VCEM, VPELTI, and VPSA, and associated departments.Interpret and communicate University financial policies, procedures, and best practices.Collaborate with campus partners to resolve financial issues and improve processes.Special Projects & Professional DevelopmentSupport annual reporting requirements, including GAPS, Space Survey, and Capital Equipment Audits.Participate in committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned.Maintain current knowledge of University systems, policies, and financial regulations through ongoing professional development.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Demonstrated experience (through work or education) in financial accounting, including reconciliation, analysis, reporting, and journal entry preparation.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Gmail).Knowledge of fund accounting fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.Knowledge of database or data warehouse querying tools (e.g., Business Objects or similar reporting software).Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical abilities, with strong follow-through and a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to anticipate needs.Ability to perform varied and moderately complex work under general supervision.Professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.BenefitsGenerous time off.A retirement plan that provides a two‑for‑one matching contribution after 12 months of eligible service with immediate vesting.Comprehensive health insurance options.Life insurance.Long‑term disability coverage.Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses.Modes of WorkHybrid work is allowed, with expected recurring onsite presence.
