    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Accountant to lead the day-to-day finance and accounting function operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory and tax compliance, preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, supporting budgeting activities, and serving as the primary finance resource for the business. This role requires an individual who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, and partner with management to support informed business decisions. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the business.

    • Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

    • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management.

    • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support business planning.

    • Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), SSNIT, and other statutory reporting requirements, including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, and corporate tax filings.

    • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.

    • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure proper accounting for company assets.

    • Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes.

    • Support contract reviews, procurement activities, and business development initiatives by providing financial analysis and commercial support.

    • Prepare financial reports and analysis for management to support strategic decision-making.

    • Perform other finance and accounting responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

    • Minimum of 5 years' progressive accounting experience.

    • Professional qualification such as ACCA, ICA Ghana, CPA, or active pursuit of a professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.

    • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Ghanaian tax laws, and statutory compliance requirements.

    • Experience preparing financial statements, management accounts, budgets, and audit schedules.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.

    • Ability to work independently and manage the company's accounting function with minimal supervision.

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
