Overview

Empire & Co. is seeking an Account Manager to join our growing NYC team. In this role, you will manage client relationships, deliver high-quality products, and provide strategic, knowledge-based solutions. You will play a key role in increasing market share and profitability by building trust and maintaining strong client partnerships through consistent account oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

Keep clients informed on new product offerings and market trends

Apply value engineering principles in client interactions

Collaborate with Marketing to provide updated materials and insights

Identify opportunities for ancillary products and additional services

Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and requests

Attend client meetings and maintain ongoing communication as needed

Effectively communicate the Empire story and full range of capabilities

Anticipate client needs and proactively provide solutions

Maintain awareness of competitors for strategic product positioning

Negotiate with vendors to improve pricing and profitability

Build and maintain strong client relationships through strategic engagement

Develop forecasts and execute strategic account planning

Conduct on-site meetings and field measurements when required

Sales Process

Serve as the primary liaison throughout the sales cycle

Coordinate with Sales/Account Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure smooth execution

Monitor key reports (e.g., pipeline, unbilled, aging)

Support and mentor Junior Account Managers, as applicable

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

5+ years in the furniture industry; experience working at a dealership preferred.

Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 based on experience

Capable of reading and understanding blueprints, CAD, or construction drawings.

CAD experience / CET experience.

Knowledge of Steelcase furniture.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Experience using Hedberg to generate quotes.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong customer service skills.

Well-spoken and able to convey ideas, thoughts, and information effectively.

Highly motivated, persistent, and a skilled negotiator.

Plans and carries out responsibilities with little to no direction.

Comfortable working independently.

Ability to take on and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Handles deadlines and pressure with ease.

Works well in a team environment.

Ability to motivate others.
